This applies to slow moving fixed wing aircraft as well. It is much easier to fight in the hills with a helecopter. On flat terrain helecopters have to expose themselves to get close to enemy tanks. On hills, depression or no, tanks are very vulnerable to infantry attack. But really only if there are things to shoot at right? If the enemy doesn't send anything to shoot at you're kinda just driving around. Having depression in hilly terrain is an advantage.
